Christian Practices

In 1997 the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) published a congregational resource titled, The Call to Discipleship.

Discipleship is being called to walk with Christ, equipped to live like Christ, and sent by Christ to love and serve others in the world!

Congregations intent on being disciple-making, disciple-supporting, and disciple-sending communities will find these resources helpful as a place to start or as an additional source of inspiration and energy in response to God’s compelling call to mission.                                                                                                                                                                                     (From the ELCA webpage.)

The seven faith practices of discipleship are:

Pray

Worship

Study

Invite

Encourage

Serve

Give
